    NewWave is looking for a Java Developer to fill a role in our team based in Elkridge, MD. We are a data-driven technology firm determined to create intuitive solutions that inspire and serve real purpose.     • Thrive in a unique Software Development culture where thinking outside of the box is required daily and creative input is necessary to solve business problems.
    • Work with key Federal stakeholders to define business processes and translate those requirements into code.
    • Gather functional and technical system requirements.
    • Participate in analysis, design, and new development of applications in a fast-paced environment.
    • Coordinate closely with other programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications.
    • Support data migration, loading and conversion between data stores.
    • Prepare and maintain system, application and program level documentation as needed.
    • Assist in the review and analysis of detailed program specifications and designs to meet changes required in the work processes.
    • Provide demonstrations to clients throughout the entire project life cycle.
    • Design and implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies.
    • Collaborate with internal team, partner resources, and client resources on project-related tasks, ensuring delivery dates are met.



    • 3+ years developing JAVA, .NET or other programming languages.
    • B.A. or B.S. degree in IT, Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides comparable knowledge, is acceptable. 
    • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL and database like Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.
    • Strong knowledge of Scrum framework and development techniques.
    • Ability to deliver high quality, maintainable code on time with minimal rework.

    Residency Requirement

    • Must have lived in the United States at least 3 out of 5 years.



    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies.
    • Experience in the healthcare IT industry.
    • Experience with Oracle databases.
    • Demonstrated strong cross organization communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders to effectively communicate business benefits and influence technical decisions.
    • Proven ability to analytically address complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw quality conclusions.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, with tight deadlines and ambiguity on some projects.



    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    Microsoft Project.
