Service Reliability Engineers (SRE) will focus on creating software that improves the reliability of systems in production, fixing issues, responding to incidents and helping teams across the MACBIS program and improve with best practices in all these areas.

  • Design, implement, and maintain a secure and scalable infrastructure platform for delivering Cloud Services’ applications
  • Help teams implement source code management, continuous deployments, security best practices and monitoring / alerting
  • Conducting post-incident reviews
  • Documenting knowledge, process and best practices
  • Coordinate development and make technical decisions
  • Create tools for automating deployment, monitoring and operations of the overall platform
  • Provide counsel on technical matters in plain English to our team and stakeholders
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools, improve system health and reliability


  • BS degree or equivalent and five years of dedicated information technology experience
  • A minimum of three years’ experience with cloud services (ideally AWS or Azure environments).
  • Should know the gotchas, potential problems, and how-to setup geographically redundant services in the cloud.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and automation/configuration management using either Cloud Formation or Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or an equivalent.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies to host container services and registries, continuous deployment and continuous integration services, code repositories, and security vulnerability identification to support the cloud infrastructure.
  • A working understanding of programming (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Experience analyzing solutions components, understanding systems integration challenges, and identifying technology gaps in current components that must be resolved to reach future performance targets and functionality requirements in a cloud infrastructure.

  • Must have lived in the United States at least 3 out of the last  5 years.
