Responsibilities

NewWave is looking for a passionate data scientist to work in a fast paced, challenging and innovative environment to build out the next generation data analytics platform to deliver positive impacts on the U.S. healthcare system and healthcare quality for the citizens.

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years proven experience in Data Science
  • Experience in data mining
  • Experience in working with notebooks – Jupyter, Zeppelin, Databricks notebook, etc.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS, Microstrategy, Looker) 
  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
  • Experience in R, SQL, Python (NumPy, Pandas) or Scala/Java (Apache Spark)
  • Experience in health care domain 
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Center of Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) CCW data
  • Preferred Experience in machine learning and deep learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch or Apache Spark MLlib
  • Preferred Knowledge and experience of working with Center of Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) IDR data
  • Understanding of quality measures (e.g. HEDIS) is highly desired

  • Analytical mind and business acumen
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred

Residency Requirement

  • Must have lived in the United States at least 3 out of the last  5 years.
