What's the Job?

We are looking for a Capture Director / Growth Leader to join our team and expand and grow the portfolio in the Federal, State, and local government space.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading successful $30M to $100M captures.

 

The successful candidate should be eager to drive revenue growth through successful client partnerships, have a robust portfolio of customer relationships and a natural ability to leverage these in developing credible, strategic, and unique solutions that elevate PWIN and drive growth.

 

The Capture Director leads and supports the NewWave business development effort, work shaping, growth and capture lifecycle. The Capture Director is responsible for managing/leading small to medium sized cross-functional teams to win business opportunities, driving to qualify opportunities, taking them from the point when the opportunity is qualified for pursuit until the contract is awarded, and successfully handed off to the delivery team.  Responsible for articulating and selling the company’s value proposition, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts into successful partnerships. Supported by members of the Growth and Delivery Teams, the Capture Director will develop, organize, and execute capture strategies, including defining the priority activities, building customer and strategic partner relationships, building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions, understand the customer’s needs and challenges, to respond to and win business with new and existing customers.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead opportunity pursuits from qualification to award, leveraging capture processes and advancing creative expertise. Shape the RFP prior to release through strategic customer engagement.
  • Obtain customer insights and intel, through effective and strategic engagement with customers and partners, to inform and drive the creation of a strong bid.
  • Develop and execute capture plans.
  • Provide leadership to bid process including technical, management, past performance, and pricing strategies and win themes, including management of bids and proposal requests.
  • Provide opportunity gap analysis and identify partners, both internal and external, to successfully close the deal.
  • Responsible for coordinating Teaming Agreements and Statements of Work that meet customer requirements and enhance NewWave’s PWIN.
  • Develop associated briefing materials and present them to the executive leadership team and potential partners and customers, as appropriate.
  • Actively be involved in solution development and have the ability and understanding of details to present on behalf of any element of the opportunity to customers or leadership.
  • Maintain the company BD opportunity pipeline with focus on size, velocity, and maturity. 
  • Monitor draft solicitations, live solicitations, or other opportunities of interest identified in the corporate pipeline. 
  • Source technical expertise to assist with solution development, capture, and solicitation responses and provide leadership and oversight during the proposal development phase.
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships and collaborative relationships with colleagues to enhance teamwork in BD pursuits.
  • Interact with all levels of the organization to stay up to date on, and where possible to define, company capabilities.
  • Attend Industry Days, Pre-proposal conferences and other networking events as  helpful to improve capture effort effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Healthcare-related or Technology or equivalent professional experience
  • Notable strength and experience with Microsoft implementations and a technical mindset are a plus.
  • Experience with industry-standard capture management and proposal development methodologies, such as Shipley, is a plus. 
  • Experience working with common Federal procurement communication sites (i.e., FedBizOpps, GovWin, FPDS, GSA eBuy, etc.) is a plus. 
  • Past performance with U.S. Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs or other civilian agencies in Healthcare a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with customers/teams and building trusting relationships. Understands the benefits and ideal uses of various programming languages. 
  • Demonstrated history of staying on the forefront of emerging industry practices. 
  • Brings and maintains a positive attitude, contributes to a positive work culture and experience for others, is collaborative, and thrives working as part of a team and leading others.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft tools PowerPoint, Word, Excel and/or experience with other specific products is required.
  • Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
